2008 Olympics pages in the LA Times

The LA Times produced zoned covers for its Olympics preview. Photos by Jay L. Clendenin, using a 4-by-5-inch field camera. Read Jay's blog post on the photos here.

The Times also used a mosaic illustration of Michael Phelps for a daily section front. It was crafted by a freelance Greek artist, Charis Tsevi, who has done some high profile stuff for Fortune magazine. Check out more of his work in his Flickr feed.

damn. i worked with jay in back in college (san jose state university's spartan daily and access magazine). the guy is still bad ass as ever.
